| eNews from CobbRides Transportation Management Association |
January, 2006 |
|
|
Please note: For 2006, our eNews has been renamed,
CobbRidesNews. In addition, we are
introducing a modified CobbRides logo. Finally,
our website has a slightly new look since we have
retired our successful "Deck of Cards" theme.

New for 2006! |
 |
The benefits are bigger and better for '06! A
three-person pool can earn $40 in gas per month and
a four-person or larger pool can earn $60! Never tried
an alternative? You can register for Cash for
Commuters and earn $3 per day for each day you use
an alternative. That equals up to $180 over the 90
day enrollment period!

Guaranteed Ride Home |
 |
Is your company or office park a participant in
CobbRides Guaranteed Ride Home program? Most likely
so, but do you know who your Transportation
Coordinator (TC) is? If you carpool, walk, ride a bike,
use transit, or vanpool, you are eligible for a free ride
home in case of emergency. Check our website to find
the name of your TC so you know where to go if you
are in need!

|
Spotlight on You |
 |
CobbRides has some special Spotlight Awards and we
are looking for two(2) commuters to award $100
prizes. Are you our Best Reporter? Transit Champion?
Most
Versatile Commuter? Each quarter we look for the
commuter who meets the criteria to qualify to win. All
you need to do is use an alternative and log your
commute daily.
Just think...you could end up $100 richer!

Pleasures of Pooling |
 |
The AJC recently interviewed several carpoolers and
vanpoolers who had made the switch from drive alone
commuting and are sticking with it. Many pools begin
as a temporary situation but turn into the commuter’s
favorite way to travel. Have you got a Pleasures of
Pooling story? Submit your story to
Jennine@CobbRides.com and we may include it in a
future issue of CobbRidesNews.

Zipper success |
 |
Thank you for participating in our 2005 Holiday Zipper
program. Michele Hollingsworth of Heidelberg
was the Grand Prize Winner! Michele won a $500
shopping spree at Town Center Mall courtesy of
CobbRides.
We’ve had a great response to our surveys and Minnie
Jones of BellSouth and Kevin Littrell of
Enercon each won a $25 gift certificate in our
random drawing. We appreciate your comments and
hope to make the 2006 Zipper even better.

Appreciation of 2005 participants |
 |
CobbRides would like to thank you, our area
commuters, for your continued participation in our
many programs. One of our favorite and most
successful ones (and yours, too, judging by
enrollment) was "Two-Can-Pool". Although it began as
a temporary program, CobbRides was able to extend it
throughout all of 2005. Even though funding for that
program has ended, new opportunities
have begun. Just add one or two more people to your
existing two-person pool and you can earn even more
free gas. And of course, when you continue to log,
you increase your chances to win a $25 Target gift
card with every clean commute logged.

|
More winners |
 |
Congratulations to the CobbRides Target card winners
for December. Loggers earned $425 worth of free
shopping just for logging! Be sure to log daily and
increase your chances to win.
Even better, commuters who used alternatives saved
$25,380.00 as a group!
